I started my holistic practice, 'Calmer Therapies', offering Aromatherapy and Reiki in 2006, after leaving my career as a lecturer in Adult Basic Skills at a local college of FE. Over the years, I have added other qualifications and skills to my portfolio and I am committed to continuous professional development so that I can keep my own knowledge and skills up to date and valid for my clients.

I am an ex-tutor with the internationally renowned Penny Price Academy, where I taught IFPA and FHT accredited holistic therapy courses up to level 5 (degree) and Post Graduate.

In October 2020 I decided to relaunch my business as Hope Spiritual and Holistic Services.

About the therapies:

Clinical Reflexology 
A specific massage of the feet or hands - gentle or firm pressure - whatever you prefer! Reflexology stimulates reflex points on the feet and hands that are traditionally said to correspond to the whole body.   A popular holistic therapy with ancient roots! 

Aroma Reflex is where I combine my knowledge of the therapeutic properties of essential oils and use bespoke blends as part of your reflexology treatment and may make up a bespoke butter, oil blend or lotion for you to use at home between treatments

Thai Foot Massage
Thai Foot Massage is a massage of the lower legs and feet that involves hands on stretching and massage to ‘open’ the Sen (energy) Lines, along with the use of a special shaped rosewood stick (or crystal wand) to stimulate the reflex points on the feet which correspond to the internal organs of the body. Creams and aromatherapy oils may also be used. The massage is particularly good for invigorating tired, aching, sore feet and legs. A hand and arm massage may also be incorporated into the session for hard working hands too! 

Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage has been used in Asia for over 5,000 years and works specifically on the head, scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper back.  It is ideal for people who tend to carry tension in those areas.  

Ear Candle Therapy
Ear candling is an ancient practice that has been used for centuries in many cultures throughout the world.  Modern ear candles incorporate safety features to ensure a very safe and pleasant experience, they are made from unbleached cotton or linen and natural beeswax.  A facial massage is incorporated into the treatment.

Usui Reiki
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese relaxation technique which is considered to be a complementary therapy. It aims to balance the energy system of the body in a similar way to martial arts such as Tai Chi and Qui Gong. 

Angelic Reiki
For those times when you feel that you need to call upon the angelic realms to help with the situation! 

Celtic Reiki
Celtic Reiki is based upon the symbols of the Celtic Ogham (Ancient Druidic Alphabet) which correspond to the trees and other nature sources. It combines the principles of Reiki and the particular energies of nature and it may appeal particularly to those, like myself, who are already working with earth, tree and plant energies

Crystals & Crystal Chakra Healing
Energy Medicine for Mind, Body and Spirit -
Crystals were used by ancient civilisations for their healing properties. The Greek pharmacist, Dioscorides (c. 40 – 90 AD) listed over 200 crystals and gems to be used for healing and for emotions, in his Materia Medica. They are also prominent in religious history, where they are mentioned frequently in the bible and ancient texts.

Crystals emit tiny electrical impulses which are believed to be received & recognised by the body. This energy exchange may be very subtle and is often not apparent to the conscious mind and every crystal has its own unique signature energy.  Up to 100 Crystals may be placed on the chakras and surrounding area.  Your own personal crystal cave!
